Last year I won my first photography award. The Cobalt Health Capture a Moment award, in support of cancer research and treatment in the UK. I am incredibly proud to have been able to support such a great cause.
Cancer is an awful illness that will touch everyone at one point in their life or another. For me this award is extremely personal as the work that Cobalt do has directly lead to a close family member being diagnosed, and receiving treatment. Because of this I will always be grateful for the work Cobalt does, and not just because they think I'm a decent photographer. If you also find their work important consider supporting Cobalt at the links at the end of this post.
My winning image, titled 'Peak District Sheeps' was taken on a trip to my home town just over a year ago. These cheeky sheep stood out to me as soon as I saw them, staying huddled together as they wandered their grassy field. I took a few pictures but quickly decided they were too far away, and with no easy way to get over the fence into the field, I wandered on to take some other photos. It was only on my way back, that I noticed these sheep had traversed closer to my end of the field, and I could finally get the photo I was envisioning from the start.
You can see my winning image below, taken on the Fujifilm UK GFX 100 ii with the 80mm f1.7

You can support this cause by purchasing a calendar, which my image features in here:
